This model gives an easy way to carry phlebotomy tubes from the field to the lab, and keeps the tubes organized in the lab for analysis. Each carrier box can hold 52 standard 13 mm tubes, either 100mm or 75mm long.
There are no supports required on any part. Printable on Prusa Mini.
The print files are oriented how I would print them.
Additional hardware is needed:
Six (6) M3 x 30mm socket head cap screws, coarse thread.
(optional) 3mm silicone tubing for water and dust resistant seal.
(optional) 19mm Polypropylene Strapping Cord with metal buckles.
Two M3 x 30 screws for hinges on rear. Two M3 x 30mm screws to secure latches to top. Two M3 x 30 screws on bottom for latch. Do not over tighten the screws in the plastic!
The two inserts with holes go in the bottom. Orient the beveled edge up to be slightly easier to insert tubes. These will snap into place with some gentle encouragement.
The handle is useful only for transporting the box. Boxes can be stacked, they nest to prevent slippage. Use 19mm (or less) wide strapping cord; thread through the handle and through the slots on the front and back of the carrier. These carriers need to be oriented the same (e.g. fronts facing forward) to stack. Additionally, the handle will only fit one way, that ensures it is centered.
I hope you like ❤ this design and find this carrier useful for phlebotomy work!
