This model is a 46 uH loading coil base for a portable vertical antenna with tripod. The design uses a chassis mount SO239 and is threaded for 3/8-24 attachments. M3 screws are used in the tripod and legs assembly. M5 panhead screws are used as anchors for the coil wire. A Keystone 209 battery contact is used on the contact ring. 38+ feet of 16 awg is needed for the coil. I used tinned 16 awg copper buss wire on earlier models. I recommend crimp-on ring terminals where appropriate.
I recommend using a 3/8-24 thread extension to permit removal/repacement of whip fittings without potential problems associated with plastic threads. I found these to be an inexpensive version of 3/8-24 thread extensions: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08W56Y1WQ
Fusion 360 source and STEP files are included.
NOTE: The coil form is 315mm long. A printer capable of printing this height is required, or the component will have to be printed in two parts. If printing the split version of the coil, print with the split faces uppermost. A dowel model, placed in corresponding holes, can be used for alignment & reinforcement in conjunction with CA glue.
I have not yet printed this model. It is a variation on the 26 uH model found here:https://www.printables.com/model/875179-portable-loading-coil-vertical-antenna
Pictures are from the 26 uH build but the construction details are also applicable to this model version.
