Heat: Pedal to the Metal expansion insert

This is an organizer for the board game Heat: Pedal to the Metal. I designed it to fit the base game, the first expansion Heat: Heavy Rain, and hopefully leave enough room for a second expansion.  With this version, there is enough room in the box to fit a 4th map board, heat, stress, and player cards and pieces for an additional player, and some extra room for the garage and other cards based roughly on what was in Heavy Rain.

While the original included insert was great compared to most shipping inserts, it was too snug for my sleeved cards and was curling the corners.  It also didn't fit all of the cards from the first expansion and there's another expansion coming.  Finally, the new map board wouldn't fit in the main box without pretty substantial lid lift.  

The large empty spacer bin at the end of the files can fit the press corners or other accessories in and isn't strictly necessary but it keeps the card racks from shifting around.  

Print Details:

If you just want to print your own, print one of each of the files at 0.2mm or less with a 0.4mm nozzle. The walls are 1.63mm, so a 0.4mm nozzle with should give you about 3-4 passes per level with no gapfill.  This will be a pretty flexible print even with PLA due to how thin the walls are, so get it as solid as you can.  The overhangs are 45 degrees, which shouldn't be too bad but print slowly to ensure everything is smooth. There are some bridges on the lower side to allow you to push cards out from the bottom.  You shouldn't need supports, but if your cooling can't do a 10mm bridge, then you might want to enable some supports. 

All of the card slots are sized for sleeved cards, but should work fine for cards that aren't sleeved.  I used 100 micron sleeves, 57.0 x 89.0, and left a little extra room. I also left space in most of the card slots bins for another expansion, but of course there's no way of knowing yet what will be included so there may be a V2 down the road.

The picture shows how everything is arranged, the scorepads can fit in the score pad bin under the cars, and there's room for a golf pencil.

For smaller Print Beds:

There is an alternate card rack for the Garage, sponsorship, track and other cards for print beds smaller than 245mm.  These three files replace the “Other Rack” and “Press bin” found in the main files.  With this change the largest piece is 232mm long as originally intended, so it should fit on most printers.
