This elegant, compact (15cm tall) folding dice tower takes up very little space on your gaming table, and is easy to store and transport.
Two versions are available, with or without magnets. The version with magnets (requiring four 8x2 neodymium magnets) secures the tower lock and allows the dice to be stored in the tower.
General settings:
It's important that the cover doesn't warp during printing. The gap between the tower and the cover is small, so any deformation can lead to problems opening or closing the tower. Use mouse ears or brim to prevent the corners of the cover from warping.
Printing this dice tower require some supports. But it has been designed and modeled to require very few, and to be very easy to remove, leaving no marks on the tower. This is made possible by the magic of organic supports!
In PrusaSlicer, click on the Print Settings tab and choose the Support Material category. Modify the settings according this screenshot:
In the 3D Editor view, press on the L key to activate the paint-on supports tool. Paint the top of the tower exit window, as in this screenshot:
Slice it! If you have followed the previous instructions, you should have this result:
The supports have been set in the 3MF file supplied.
Let the print cool before folding. The first time you fold the tower, it's normal to notice some sticking at the hinges. Don't hesitate to push until you hear a creak, indicating that the lid and tower have come loose.
