The Wahl Figura is an excellent pet clipper but it is difficult to use with fine haired dogs like Doodles. My solution was to make an attachment that hooks up to a standard shop vac and pulls the hair into the path of the blades, then keeps the cut hair out of the way and in the vacuum where it belongs.
I use a 1" attachment for most of the dog and a half inch one for her legs and feet. We do her head with a scissors. So she gets a bit sloppy on top.
At first, my dog was pensive about it and it took two people to groom her. Now, she just waits for it to be over. No big deal. I bought an extra hose so the vacuum machine itself is located almost 20 feet away. I think that helps a lot with the cooperation.
Because of this attachment, I can groom my dog myself. I hit her about once a month with the machine and that keeps her looking great!
This model requires two self-tapping screws (#10) about 3/8" long to secure the mount to the body of the vacuum attachment.
