A ceramics friend was using a cut-up PET bottle with rough biro markings on it as his height guide for projects on the wheel (see pic).
I said I'd make him something a bit more bespoke and easier to use……
This improved height guide free-stands on the wheel and has clear and legible markings for easy use.
It can be printed in the filament of your choice - PLA or PETG. If your printer can handle printing with two filaments, then a contrasting colour can be used for the text and height marks (as per the above picture). I've included a ‘recessed text’ version for printers that only use a single filament at a time.
As far a printing specific go:
Material: PLA or PETG - nothing fancy.
Layer height: Doesn't matter.
Orientation: Text side down on plate.
Perimeters: Two
Infill: Grid @ 15% will be plenty as the model carries no load and simply sits on the wheel to be gazed at momentarily.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
