BlueBoat T500 Adapter

This adapter will be under considerable force in testing, and has not been through the typical Blue Robotics testing and development process. It is shared so members of the community can begin experimenting with propulsion upgrades for their vehicles, and should not be relied on for mission critical situations without extensive testing. Use with this propeller for maximum efficiency and speed!

This adapter allows you to swap the M200 with weedless prop for the T500 on your BlueBoat! Requires 2X M3x12 for boat to adapter, and 2x M3x20 for adapter to T500. Since the T500 uses a M14 penetrator, no special adaptation is required to use the existing hole on the stern of the BlueBoat. Simply remove the T500 nose cone, and secure to the adapter!

You will need to shorten your T500 cable, and install a new seal in the WetLink Penetrator to set the correct length from motor to penetrator entry into the hull.  Removing the nozzle and trimming the arms off of the motor can increase performance, as the nozzle is better for low-speed high force applications (like towing.) 

The heavier weight is not compensated for entirely by the (likely short-term) buoyancy of the adapter, so moving your batteries farther forward in the BlueBoat hulls will help keep the craft trim and level when at rest. 

The top speed of the BlueBoat is unlikely to be affected much, but the tow force (bollard pull) should be considerably increased! This, as well as the efficiency at any speed, should be about 3X greater than the standard system propulsion. 

The mount holds the T500 even with the bottom of the keel, so it can rest on a flat deck with no load on the mount. The mount also rests on the keel of the vehicle, to help transmit the thrust load to the hull.

Instructions:

1. Print file normally, and mirrored so the cutout for the keel appears on the opposite side. This is necessary to accommodate the port/starboard hull. 
2. Re-use bolts that mount M200 to fix the adapter to the motor mount. Use M3 316SS nylock nuts, 2 per mount, to secure. 
3. Use M3x20mm 316SS bolts to secure the T500 to the adapter
4. Optional - for increased performance, remove the T500 nozzle, and use a hack-saw to remove the arms that hold the nozzle, sanding the bumps that remain. Replace the default T500 prop with a larger one!
