Description

This is a simple and efficient screw tread test to calibrate your slicer and printers.

It was made using ISO metrics from M2-M5 available in Fusion 360.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Walls:
    • Loops: 3
    • Order: Inner/Outer or Inner/Outer/Inner
    • Generator: Classic
  • Seam:
    • Position: Aligned
  • Infill:
    • Density: 10%
    • Pattern: Grid or Gyroid
  • Support:
    • No needed

Troubleshooting

To help in case your print does not match the metrics, check these parameters:

  • Excessive material flow ratio:
    • Run flow rate, max flowrate and VFA tests from your slicer.
  • Very low infill density:
    • Try increase infill density in order to get a better support to screws treads.
  • Walls not enough:
    • Same case as infill, try to increase walls loop.
  • Seam not aligned:
    • In a few cases, seam not set as aligned can change the screw tread resulting in failure printings.
  • Very high print speed:
    • Try reduce 50% of your normal printing speed.
  • Low retraction or Pressure advance inefficient:
    • Run pressure advance and retraction test from your slicer.
  • Larger nozzle:
    • Try use .2 or .4 nozzles
