About the monument - English

"Acted as the dungeon of the royal court, also representing a strong defensive element.
The Chindia Tower was also used as a surveillance and defence point for the court and for the city. It was provided with shooting loopholes, while the first level had an access door connected to the royal palace. In the XVI-XVII centuries it also acted as a prison. According to the archaeological researches, it was built during the first half of the XV century, probably during the reign of Vlad Dracul" [1].  Vlad Dracul was the father of Vlad Țepeș, better knwon as Dracula.
“Another possible founder of the tower could have been the famous Vlad Țepeș- Dracula. The architectural researches regarding the tower proved that this construction was built over the porch of the chapel constructed during the reign of Mircea cel Bătrân”. [1]

"A jucat rolul de donjon al curții domnești, reprezentând totodată și un element defensiv puternic. Turnul Chindia îndeplinea și funcția de punct de observație și de pază a curții și orașului.
Era prevăzut cu goluri de tragere, iar la primul nivel exista o ușă de acces cu legătură spre palatul domnesc. În sec. XVI-XVII a jucat și rol de închisoare. Conform cercetărilor arheologice, a fost ridicat în prima jumătate a sec. al XV-lea, probabil în vremea domniei lui Vlad Dracul.
Un alt posibil ctitor al turnului ar fi fost celebrul Vlad Țepeș- Dracula. Cercetările de arhitectură asupra au dovedit că această construcție s-a ridicat peste pridvorul paraclisului din vremea lui Mircea cel Bătrân". [1]

Removed the interior and flattened the base. Enlarge the door at the base and added a new spiral stair that is wider to accommodate for its new purpose as a dice tower.
