I'm a happy owner of SimLab Vario triple monitor stand build from 8040 profiles.
There is a one thing I don't like about it though: side rails are kept in place only by pivot screws which won't provide any rigidity when you happen to push the screen a little bit harder.
I've made a very simple 150mm (center to center) straight brace to help with this problem. Large ~18x1.5mm washers are used to spread the load on bigger area of the plastic part. The height was designed to fit the M6x20mm screws. Top washers are sinked in flush with the part.
You can place another washer between the brace and the aluminium profile for stiffest connection or you can put the plastic part directly against the profile.
Z dimensions optimised for 0.3mm layer. PLA, 2 perimeters, 2 top/bottom layers and 10-15% infill will give you strong enough part. You can use 2 braces on each side (on top and bottom of the rails) but one should be strong enough.
