– Measure the angle between belt hook and drill chuck to modify the file if needed first –

If you - like me - have trouble with tiliting your drill while using it, this might be a solution to the problem. I was inspired by the electronic levelness indicator of the Bosch GSR 18V-150 C which is sadly way out of my budget. But now the feature is available for cheap on any drill!

You need a 40x15x15 mm bubble level, which is often given away as a marketing gift. You can also buy them indicidually on sites like ebay for cheap. If you would like to use a different level, there are CAD files available for you to modify.

The model is optimised to provide a snug fit with rigid filaments. Printing in a high shore TPU might be better in order to increase friction with the level and to make it resisitant to bumps and blows.

Printing instructions:

  • Measure the angle between drill chuck and belt hook mounting point and make adjustments in the CAD file if necessary. Standard: 6.7° for Bosch GSR 18V-60 C
  • Use 0.4 mm nozzle with 0.45 mm line width. You might want to adjust the CAD model if using a different size nozzle
  • Use support material for angles >55°
  • Print standing up with closed end touching build plate
