This is a water drip plate I made for Greek column pot which was made by SASSy Design@SASSyDesign

My initial plate design did not had middle part, but in the next iteration it was added because after a while the planter/pot bottom started to deform due to weight. So middle part supports pot and prevents the bottom of the pot from deforming.

  • I personally recommend printing plate with no supports. Some sagging might occur for middle part, but most of the time it will not be visible anyway or those tiny strands could be easily ripped out so I don't see this as an issue.
  • It's made to be printed at 100 % infil. Thick portions hollowed out (seen in one of the images).

The pot itself for which this plate was made for:

For printing the pot itself (the one by SASSy Design) I suggest to not use vase mode, but instead set:

  • Top layers to 0
  • Infill to 0%
  • Walls count/loops to 3
  • Bottom layer thickness to 1-1.5 mm

This way planter will be printed a bit slower, but significantly stronger. After that drill couple of holes to make way for water to drain, put the pot on top of this water drip plate and you're good to go.
