Remix+: The Tandem Mini Bird Feeder

Here is a remix of a great design from sakulnagar. I've remixed their perch to have two perches and added a second part to cover the feeder bottle.

This cap/cover is intended to serve a few purposes:
  - Help shield the feeder from unwanted marauders (squirrels!)
  - Keep seeds dry
  - Keep birds dry

Instructions:

  1. Print both provided parts (Perch and Cap). Tear away Cap tabs (for bed adhesion).

  2. Recycle a used 64oz bottle (I used a Whole Foods Lemonade bottle) and cut a hole in the bottom of bottle for easy refilling your feeder.

  3. Get some stiff wire to hang your feeder. I used some old 14AWG copper Romex wire used for home wiring. Anything similar should work. Then wrap the wire around the bottle neck, up the sides and twist just above the hole at the bottom making a loop for hanging.

  4. With a second piece of wire, attach to whatever you want to hang your feeder on. In my case, a tree branch. Slide the printed Cap printed part up the bottom of the second wire. Then attach the second wire to the first wire loop you made at the bottle bottom.

  5. Let the cap slide down to rest on top the feeder. Add some seeds. Enjoy!

TIP: Hang your feeder so it has several feet of clearance all around it so squirrels can't reach it both from the ground and nearby branches. Easier said than done. ;-)

    Please post any makes. Thanks.
