We have a GoPro Hero 9 and a Hero 10. I wanted to ensure that the lenses do not get scratched or damaged when we travel. I have tried some other covers that just snapped over the lenses, but I had seen them fall off in our luggage. So I designed this one that includes a retaining band to hold it on.

These parts are a mix of TPU and PLA, see the file names for which part uses which filament. In PrusaSlicer all the parts should load in the correct orientation to print. I don't know about other slicers.

I used PrusaSlicer 2.7.4 on a Prusa MK4 running firmware 6.0.0

Below are the settings that worked for me. I didn't experiment much so there may be some better options.

  • TPU:
    • NinjaTek NinjaFlex in blue
    • 100% infill
    • ironing for the top layer
    • print quality “0.20mm STRUCTURAL”
  • PLA
    • Jessie Premium PLA in red
    • 15% gyroid infill
    • organic supports
    • print quality “0.15 STRUCTURAL”

After printing I used superglue to attach the TPU and PLA pieces together.  Their is a fillet on one edge of the red PLA piece where the TPU band lays. I put that there to go into the 90° corner of the band to help the two pieces fit closer together.
