This change lets you cover the LCD screen on Leica M10 cameras to make it feel like you're using an old film camera. You can use a half case from film cameras like the Leica M2, M3, M6, or MP. Just don't use the Leica M10's bottom plate. The camera needs a magnet from the bottom plate to work, so I made a 3D model for a new base with a spot for a magnet. Put a magnet in there, and the camera will work with this new setup. The 3D printed base is very thin, only 1.28mm.
We cover the LCD to make it feel like using a Leica M10-D, which doesn't have an LCD. The new base needs a small magnet (1mm deep, 5mm wide) put in the right spot to work without the original bottom plate.
To do this, get a film case for Leica M2 or M3 cameras from "Mr. Zhou" on eBay or Amazon, or another brand that fits. Buy a small magnet (Neodymium Magnets Round Disc N35, 5mm X 1mm) from eBay for about $5 for 100 pieces. Make sure the magnet faces the right way in the 3D-printed base.
The last picture shows you can add felt over the magnet to protect the camera's bottom.
