I found some glass distillation columns (Allihn condensers) in the junkyard,
so I designed simple and practical stand.
The stand is also the base for a cool lamp for nerdy chemists.
After placing the LED strip, you can fill inner tube with glass microspheres
for a more interesting lighting effect.
The stand have an empty chamber inside that can be filled with sand
or steel balls for better stability (it increases the weight). There is a hole in the bottom
of the base which must be sealed after pouring in the ballast.
In the lower part of the base there is also a channel for the 3-wire cable for the WS2812 RGB-LED strip.
I've attached a short MP4 movie demonstrating a few light-effects.
Dimensions: 140x140x50 [mm] - suitable for 470mm glass tube
Material: any (I used Prusament PLA Galaxy Black)
Nozzle: 0.4mm tested, 0.6mm should work
Layer: 0.2 mm (0.25 or 0.3 should work as well)
Perimeters: 2
Infill: 15%-20% rectlinear is recommended to have smooth, curved surface without artiffacts
TODO: There is enough space in the base to fit a microcontroller (PiPico, ESP32,...), a LiPo battery and a USB power/charging system.
