This block helps in setting up and improve the use of the Felder eccentric clamp 400-108.

When setting up the clamp it is often difficult to gauge what clamping pressure you'll achieve at what height. This block speeds up this process if you put your work piece on the sliding table with the block on top and then lower the clamp, in its closed position, onto the lowest position on the block. Afterwards you can easily adjust the clamp force by sliding the block to use a higher part of the block. When the clamp is in the far reach position as in the cover photo just setting the clamp down gives about 30N of force. 300N and 800N of force is achieved when positioning it about half way or in its highest position respectively. The latter being more force than you probably should use.

However the primary reason I designed this is to reorient the clamping force vector towards the cross-cut fence to negate the annoying tendency of the clamp to move your work piece away from the fence.

In the bottom of the block 2 recesses have been foreseen to install magnets in (10 mm diameter and 1 mm thick) so that when not using it, it can easily be stored onto the clamp itself (last photo).
