Izmit Clock Tower

34. Osmanlı Padişahı II. Abdülhamid'in tahta çıkışının 25. yıl dönümünü anma amacıyla, İzmit Mutasarrıflığının girişimi sonrasında İzmit Belediyesi tarafından yapımına başlandı. Mimar Vedat (Tek) tarafından oluşturulan projenin uygulaması, Mihran Azaryan tarafından yapıldı. 1 Eylül 1900'de temeli atılan kulenin ertesi yıl aynı gün tamamlanması hedeflense de süreç gecikti ve Eylül 1902'de, tamamıyla tamamlanamayan kulenin açılışı gerçekleştirildi.

34. Ottoman Sultan II. Its construction was started by Izmit Municipality, following the initiative of Izmit Governorate, in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Abdulhamid's accession to the throne. The project, created by architect Vedat (Tek), was implemented by Mihran Azaryan. Although the tower, whose foundation was laid on September 1, 1900, was intended to be completed on the same day the following year, the process was delayed and the opening of the tower, which could not be completed completely, was held in September 1902.
