A holder to keep my 3d digitizing probe safe, its new and at £45 gbp not expensive enough for me to religiously return it to its box every time its used.

Some tools are so expensive I do put them away immediately after use, but this I know will be used often and will not be, it also has a USB C cable that is succeptable to damaging female socket.

As I will leave this attached at all times I made it a nest, it is as fragile as an egg if bounced on floor, so in an egg it will live, mounted to the side of my of my CNC router.

I have some felt washers hiding somewhere I was going to sit it on but as they hide far to well I utulised some cloth car wiring loom wrap that I use as my goto cable tidy product.

Printed in ABS, 0.6mm nozzle, 0.4mm layer, no supports necessary 4 holes in back for m3 threaded inserts or securing with cable ties.

Modelled in Tinkercad in under 10 minutes.

My opinion on this cheap chinese probe, great vallue, arrived with repeatability within 6/100th of a mm, pre adjusted to 0.01mm runout, used today to digitise copper PCB board surface, to digitise & copy a machine part that would have taken longer to measure & draw in CAD than it took to reproduce in aluminium. digitising software is beta I am testing & as yet unreleased so I cannot provide any details yet, while actual milling carried out in Mach 3.

Only negative uncommon M2.5 probe head, ABS tapped internal activator as with probe itself  succeptable to damage, easily repproducable tho and it does have gold plated connectors removeable  with collet to avoid damage therefore reuseable.

As far as tools go my best investment under £50 for a long while, only other 3d digitising probes I have previously used cost more than £5k each. Build quality excelent, spare probe & activator purchased seperately under £6 for both, arrived from China free shipping in just 6 working days.
