Redesigned the Mechanical dice by Pieter, pretty much everything is changed except for the mechanism.
List of changes:
- More forgiving tolerances. Original model, that i have printed on my somewhat calibrated Sovol SV06 was unfortunately non-functional. This one is easier to print.
- Fair dice. Sum of the opposite sides is equal to 7, so center of mass is not (or not as big of) a factor in a roll. Its possible that its still not perfectly centered, finding the center of mass turned out to a be a difficult task, so i gave up.
- Redesigned case. Now it uses countersunk M2 bolts instead of glue; Front panel with the window can be rotated 180° if you want; Square shape is a bit easier to hold personally and i needed place for bolts anyways.
- Holes all the way through on the dice disk for better visibility
Non-printed parts:
- M2x8mm or M2x6mm bolts - 4pcs
- Small ~4-4.5mm diameter spring, about 10mm long - 1pcs (could be from a pen. I used one from a mechanical keyboard switch)
- Some lubricant for smoother movement
My slicer settings for it (printed in PLA):
- 0.2mm layer height
- no supports
- 20% infill
- orientation - as loads in the slicer
- for the part named “button” i have used a brim. Make sure to fully remove it after if you going to use it too.
