3D Print Assembly Guide

This project involves creating a customizable storage system using 3D-printed parts and tubes with an outer diameter of 40mm, cut to the desired length. The following is a detailed guide for assembly and printing recommendations:

Materials Needed:

Tubes:

  • Outer diameter: 40mm.
  • Cut to the desired length.
  • Example: ~60cm for standard use, but longer lengths are possible depending on the strength of the tubes.

3D-Printed Parts:

  • Printed components include top and side pieces designed to connect and hold the tubes in place.

Assembly Instructions:

Cut the Tubes:

  • Measure and cut the tubes to your preferred length. Standard size is ~60cm but can vary based on your specific needs and the durability of the tubes.

Attach the Printed Parts:

  • Fit the tubes into the provided slots in the printed pieces.
  • Ensure the pins at the top and holes at the bottom align correctly for a secure fit.

Optional Rear Tube:

  • A rear tube can be added for extra stability to prevent items from falling out the back.
  • If additional safety isn’t necessary, this tube can be omitted.

Spool Fitting:

  • Designed to fit most spools.
  • Some reels with larger diameters may require slight adjustments or careful placement.

3D Printing Recommendations:

Support Material:

  • Print with supports for the pins at the top and holes at the bottom to ensure precise alignment and strong connections.
  • No support is required for the remaining parts.

Material:

  • PLA or PETG recommended for strength and durability.

Layer Height:

  • Use a layer height of 0.2mm for a balance of detail and speed.

Infill:

  • A minimum infill of 20–30% ensures sufficient strength.

Updates in Version 2:

Rear Tube Removed:

  • The third rear pipe has been removed for simplicity and flexibility.

Additional Top Piece:

  • A new top piece is included as an alternative to the standard side pieces, offering a more versatile design option for users who prefer a different configuration.

Final Use Case:

This system is ideal for organizing spools or similar objects, offering stability, customizability, and a clean, modular design. Perfect for workshops or craft spaces!
