Self Watering - 5 Gallon Bucket Base

This is a self watering 5 Gallon Bucket base. You need to print 4 of the same Self Watering - 5 Gallon base and Zip tie it together (Make sure the loose ends are pointing up and be sure not cut the excess zip ties. This way you can use it to pull the base out of the bucket). If you are not comfortable with using zip ties, you can use rope or any other material. I just happen to use zip ties. Diameter is 10.75"  and it will sit in the middle of the bucket. The base is hold by the diameter of the bucket half way down (good mix of potting soil and water ratio for most plants that will last a while - 6 months). If you want the base to be lower, trim or sand the diameter down to no less then 10" diameter ( 10" sits at the bottom of the bucket and can be held up with whatever stand you wish to use with your desire height). If you have issues with PETG, you may use biodegradable PLA. 

NOTE: 

I only use potting mix so the water can be soaked by the soil and delivers nutrients to the plant. You also have an option to use ¼ wicking strings to draw the water at the bottom of the base depending on the soil and plant. If you plan to leave your plant outdoor. Please be sure to drill a drain hole (one or two 3/16th of a hole should be enough depending on soil type) where the base sits so the excess water can drain.

If you need a watering tube to fill up the bucket with nutrients and bypass the soil, you can pick up ¼" tubing since the holes are ¼".
