This is an update to my original Retro Filament Spool Keychain. I've been carrying this on my car keys since I designed it in 2017. I recently realized I could add more utility to my keychain if I hollowed out the inside and made room for allergy meds or whatever sneaky thing you're trying to carry on the sly.
The threading on the keychain is extra long which makes it a bit more of a chore to open and close, but may keep it from unscrewing in your pocket. I guess time will tell on that one, that's what version 3 is for, right?
The file is designed to be printed with a classic filament swap but could be easily modified for a printer that supports multicolor printing.
Pause at 3.2mm (layer 16 at .2mm layers) and switch to your desired filament material color.
The author remixed this model.
I mashed up jq910's screw library with my existing Fusion 360 keychain design. The screw mechanism worked so well I didn't see any reason to reinvent the wheel and create my own. The top, bottom, keychain loop, and filament “ribs” are brought over from my existing design. Thanks for the assist jq910!
