This model has two variants. One holds three Prusa Mk4 Nextruder nozzles bare without the case they come in from Prusa and the second takes the nozzles, but with the case they come in. I have successfully had both models laying flat inside my Prusa enclosure. Only the one without the cases can be on it's side as its tolerances are tight enough that it should hold the nozzles in place, but your mileage may vary, and I do not guarantee this. When putting a nozzle in the bare one, if it doesn't fit exactly in the slot, move it slightly one way or the other, as the tolerances are tight on purpose, but it should drop right in. To remove the nozzle from the holder, put your finger on the top part of the silver tube and it should tip the nozzle end out and make it easy to grab. The tolerances on the model that takes the cases are not so tight that the case will not fall out if tipped over. I will work on that, though.
There are two spots for 8mm x 3mm neodymium magnets if you choose. I did not add supports when I printed mine, and glue was unnecessary. The magnets press fit in and did not come out of my prints due to the tight tolerances.
I have started putting this model with the nozzles laying horizontally in my workbench drawer which is metal instead of inside the Prusa enclosure. It keeps the inside of the enclosure less cluttered IMO.
I printed mine using light grey Overture PETG filament, with “0.20mm SPEED” built-in print settings in PrusaSlicer.
I have seen other models vaguely like this model, but they have sizes built into the model. I specifically did not want this because I have different sizes and types of nozzles. You can add sizes and types with “Add Negative Volume → Text” feature in PrusaSlicer. Then you can add text like “.4mm Brass” or “.6mm Onyx” under each one. I left plenty of room under each nozzle for this text. I think I set each text to "5.2 mm height" and "0.70 mm depth" in PrusaSlicer.
If you want me to make one that has slots for four+ nozzles, please let me know.
Update 20240420: I added a second model, but this one takes three nozzle cases as they came from Prusa. It's not quite as cool looking, in my opinion, but more functional, according to my wife.
If you'd like a version of the nozzle case model that can hold four nozzles with cases, check this model. If you want one for Gridfinity, check this model.
Please leave feedback or post a make if you find anything that can be improved. I am always looking to get better.
The author remixed this model.
Not a remix per se, as I remade the model from scratch. I did the following.
