Allows easy mounting of a 4" square piece of solar film to a Canon SX60 HS or similar camera.

Needed non-printed parts:
- 4 screws and nuts (I used 2x M3x8 and 2x M2x12)
- 4"x4" (101mm x101mm) solar film (I used this one)
- 3mm self-adhesive foam tabs for mounting (I cut pieces of out of this.)
Note: You can use the uploaded Fusion 360 model's parameter to adjust for different thickness foam.

Printing instructions:

Not much to say here, I use a 0.4mm nozzle with 0.2mm layer height. Most tolerances between parts were set at 0.2mm.

I'd recommend just printing a centimeter or so of the tube and testing that the diameter works with the particular foam pads that you have.

Assembly:

  1. Adhere the foam pads to the inside of the tube
    1. Note: I used only 3 smaller pads, but for light sealing, it would probably be better to have the full inner circumference covered
  2. Place the film in the FilmRetainer piece
  3. Carefully lower the Tube piece on top of it
  4. Use the two M3 screws to fasten it down on the corners where the FilmCover doesn't have tabs
  5. Place the FilmCover on over the FilmRetainer
  6. Use the two M2 screws to fasten the FilmCover
  7. Slide the TubeCap over the tube end

For use, I just unscrewed one of the M2 screws and let the FilmCover rotate out of the way.

I also uploaded a parametric model where you can adjust the gap between the camera and the tube. This should allow it to be used with different sized padding, or potentially even different cameras.
