Hex key holder to fit 1.5 to 9mm hex key

I was looking on Printables for a hex key holder to fit my hex key set but didn't find one that would allow for 7 and 9 hex keys, so… I made one !

The holder fits 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 up to 9 hex keys.

The top of the holes are round, and then tapered to hexagonal, so that the keys can “align themselves”.

The mount is basically a french cleat, After testing, I had to put the hooks on the top of the part so that the whole assembly didn't tilt forward once installed, so this part must be printed with supports.

Printing instructions

  • Print with any filament really, just take into account any shrinkage if you print with ABS.
  • I designed the model with some tolerances, but it might be too tight/loose on your setup, thus I included a fitment test part, you might need to adjust your X/Y compensation parameter for a perfect fit ( I had to adjust mine to +0.1mm ).
  • All the parts are correctly oriented for printing, just load, slice, and PRINT !
  • The main part does not need supports, the support does need support for the hook part.

As always, share your makes, and if you have some improvement ideas, just ask !
