Needed an easy way to store filament spools but haven't got much free space in the workshop.
Each hook holds 2 spools and you can access any spool by just unhooking.
The chain hangs from a single hook in the ceiling.
This hanger chain is very strong and will hold many full spools. The pictures show mostly empty spools but I've put a large weight on the end and none of the hooks show any sign of flexing or giving way.
The limiting factor is probably making the sure the ceiling hook is firmly anchored, and when accessing top spools, you can lift the weight of all the spools below.
3D printer settings:
- 0.2 layers
- 6 layers in the walls
- 20% infill
I printed in PETG for strength and longevity.
Uses 30g of filament.
