This model includes 3 printed parts - The base, tube, and pipe pieces. The tube fits inside the base and allows the magnetic part to swivel and automatically align with the pipe part.
I printed these all in PETG, 0.2mm layer height, 30% infill.
The pipe fits onto a 4" PVC drain pipe (not schedule 40) with a 4" hose clamp. It has 10 magnet channels that hold a stack of 2 magnets.
The pipe adapter requires support on the 4 inch diameter inner ring (shown selected in dark blue below). I used organic and it worked great.
The base adapter fits around the tube adapter and swivels. This automatically aligns to the pipe adapter magnets. It has 10 magnet channels that hold a stack of 3 magnets.
The tube adapter fits inside of the base adapter. It fits inside 4 inch flex tubing (the wire spiral type). The 4 inch hose clamp will hold the base adapter in place, but still allows it to swivel.
When glueing/epoxying the magnets, it is important that they sit perfectly flush with the surface. The magnet holes are deeper than the stack of magnets, so they cannot be glued in with the adapter holes facing upward or the magnets will recess too far. I used a piece of steel sheet with packaging tape on it (tape is to prevent cured epoxy from sticking). I placed all of the magnets in the pieces and then quickly dropped the steel sheet on it. I removed the adapter, double checked the orientation of each magnet, then applied a small dab of mixed 5 minute epoxy in each hole. Then put the adapter back on the steel sheet aligning with the magnets and used weight to let the epoxy set.
