U-92A/U Connector Tool

A hand tool for assembling and disassembling Amphenol Nexus U-92A/U (aka: M9177/3-1 or TJ-102) connectors, which are commonly used in civil helicopter intercom audio systems.

User Instructions:

To use this tool, simply insert the post into the open end of the connector and then rotate gently while applying light pressure until you feel the teeth on the tool drop into the corresponding slots in the face of the connector. Next, press the tool firmly against the end of the connector and thread the connector housing on or off. Be sure to maintain firm pressure on the tool against the connector face while assembling or disassembling, otherwise you'll risk allowing the tool to slip and damage the teeth. In the event of improper use, the tool is designed to be sacrificial, so you will damage the tool before you damage the connector ($0.25 worth of PLA vs damaging a $23.50 connector).

Print Recommendations:

• 0.4mm nozzle.
• 0.15mm layer height.
• 3 perimeters.
• 100% infill for the post area, beginning a few layers below the recessed connector face area — use a cylindrical modifier body (see screenshot below).
