When it gets dark, this lamp displays a lot of data about your baby in a pleasant way: Name, date, and time of birth, their weight and height, a symbol of their zodiac sign, as well as the constellation.
You simply input your child's data when setting up the model in Prusa Slicer. And there you have it, a customized night lamp for your baby.
This lamp works for E27, E26 and E14 socket screw thanks to a custom adapter you can easily clip on (stl file provided).
You can get the power cords from Amazon here:
E27 cord: https://amzn.to/4amB9ys
E14 cord: https://amzn.to/43KG1e2
And I recommend this as an E14 LED bulb: https://amzn.to/3U7WLss
► First, select the 3mf file of the appropriate lampshade featuring the baby's zodiac sign. For all twelve zodiac signs, there are three variants:
On the opposite side of the lampshade is the corresponding constellation for the chosen zodiac sign. Here is the constellation Leo.
► The 3mf file already contains all the necessary settings. You just need to provide data about your baby. That's quite simple with Prusa Slicer. With other slicers, this should also be possible.
► On the right side in Prusa Slicer, right-click on each of the two text entries one by one and select [Edit].
► Then enter your baby's name on the left side in Prusa Slicer. Or their birth details. Simply replace the provided data.
You should leave the other settings in this window unchanged. Only adjust the "Height" so that your baby's name fits on one side of the shade.
► Finally, click on [Slice now] and then on [Export G-code].
When printing, there is little to consider.
However, it is important that the shade is printed without infill so that it becomes adequately translucent. For the same reason, you should use a filament that allows light to pass through. A white filament is usually very suitable, while a black one typically is not.
Use an LED bulb to prevent the inside of the lamp from getting too hot. Then you can easily print the lampshade with PLA.
