This mold is used to make a suitable seal for Lukas Cenovsky's card shuffler from basic materials that are easily available or available in the household.

I used hot glue for this, but you can also use silicone, acrylic or similar materials. The seals will have dimensions of approximately 12x6x2mm and a rectangular cross section.

After some time the hot glue hardened out so I retried it with temperature resistant silicone sealing. It was harder to release but the card shuffler now runs ultra smooth!

Application:

  • Print out the parts

  • wet the inside with a release agent that matches the material you are using. (I used dishwashing detergent with water, but this had little effect on hot glue).

  • Fill in the material. I only ever worked on a single chamber with the hot glue and then immediately moved on to the next step.

  • Put the lid on and press it firmly. Excess material should come out of the holes at the top.

  • Allow the material to cool or dry out.
  • Lift the lid and try to remove the material. Depending on the release agent used, the degree of wetting, the material used or your personal abilities, it may be necessary to destroy the bottom part of the print in order to access the undamaged contents.

If something went wrong, you can reprint the base part individually and make a few more casting models.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Nothing of the original was used. I made it my self from scratch. But it is made to fit specially to this model
