Description

Look in my Ammo Boxes Collection https://www.printables.com/social/261776-brass_ring/collections/167118 to see my ammo boxes with different latches and hinges options.

Other ammo boxes of this type  can be found in my Double Flex Latch Ammo Boxes Collection https://www.printables.com/@brass_ring/collections/176717 .

This is a caliber specific, snap together cartridge box. The cartridge box is assembled from separate parts that are printed in orientations chosen to maximize strength and then snapped together. This is a sturdier version of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5270385 or https://www.printables.com/model/187176-modular-ammo-box that is intended to better handle larger and heavier cartridges in high counts.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. If there is any bow from bridging droop on the box top's latch hoop, trim it level.
  2. Insert a hinge half into each hinge loop of the box bottom and box top fully until they snap in place.  Do this for all of the hinge loops before proceeding to the next step.
  3. Align the box top and box bottom so that the split hinges interleave.
  4. Push the hinge pin fully through the hinge holes so that it snaps in place.
  5. Rotate the latches over the latch fixtures on the box lid until the latches snap flush against the front of the box lid.  If there is a gap, give the latch a push to seat it flush.

Resolution Latch and Hinge Parts:

0.12mm

Supports:

Yes

Infill:

15% Gyroid

Notes:

Supports are only required under the horizontal overhangs of the latches.

Do not use Perimeter Generator: Arachne on the box bottoms.

The Flex Latch and hinge parts are best printed in a flexible material - like PETG. Sometimes PLA will work, but I'm finding problems with brittleness with some PLA filaments.
