Get ready for the 2024 Solar Eclipse with this fun kit card! Includes eclipse map & viewer (indirect), bookmark, and smiling corona charm. Great for classrooms or home education.
Important: The viewer is for indirect viewing of the eclipse. To use the viewer, stand facing away from the sun. Hold the viewer above a white or light-colored surface. Move the viewer up or down to change the size and focus of the beam up light that will pass from the eclipse through the hole in the map. As the moon passes over the sun, you will see the round shape go through the phases of the eclipse! See the bookmark diagram for reference. See below for further safety information regarding solar eclipse events.
Example of viewing the eclipse:

Eye Safety for Total Solar Eclipses (from science.nasa.gov)
Here are some important safety guidelines to follow during a total solar eclipse.
View the Sun through eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer during the partial eclipse phases before and after totality.
You can view the eclipse directly without proper eye protection only when the Moon completely obscures the Sun’s bright face – during the brief and spectacular period known as totality. (You’ll know it’s safe when you can no longer see any part of the Sun through eclipse glasses or a solar viewer.)
As soon as you see even a little bit of the bright Sun reappear after totality, immediately put your eclipse glasses back on or use a handheld solar viewer to look at the Sun.
