This is a remix of a horizontal outlet cover with shelf that was a remix of a vertical outlet cover with shelf. In my remix, I've added a lip to the shelf to prevent things from falling off if clipped in passing. My outlet happens to be at waist height in a high traffic area and so the lip was necessary to prevent outrage in the future.

Support Settings for Cura

  • Generate Support: Checked
  • Support Structure: Normal
  • Support Placement: Everywhere
  • Support Overhang Angle: 45.0 (Probably could've done something closer to 80-85)
  • Support Horizontal Expansion: 0.8mm

Multi-Color Filament Settings for Cura

Go to Extensions > Post Processing > Modify G Code. From the "Post Processing Plugin" window that pops up, select Filament Change from the drop down menu. If option not listed below, leave unchecked:

  • Enable: Checked
  • Layer: 55
  • Initial Retraction: 15.0mm
  • Later Retraction Distance: 300.0mm
  • X Position: 25.0mm
  • Y Position: 150.00mm
  • Z Position: 0.0mm
  • Retract method: Marlin (M600 U)

Post-Printing

Support Removal

Very carefully use pliers or snips to rip off all the supports. The print should be rather sturdy so don't worry about breaking it.
