Thank you drhollen for sharing this. I like to ask if you will be inclined to design a 2inch filter holder that works with this dew shield of yours? I'm thinking of using them as a combo. I have been looking out for one but I haven't seen anything close.

@drhollen thanks for the quick effort but pardon me for pointing out, that if the filter thread is placed at the front of the shield, won't it defeat the purpose? The filter will not get the LP protection from the shield. The idea I have in mind is that a filter holder that takes the 2inch lens that will attach at the SS aperture first and then your shield that attaches to the filter holder. Will that be achievable?

So it will be like SS > your filter holder > your shield. If you could come up with a filter holder that takes your shield, it will also be compatible with the standard masks as well.

@Poppienutshe_3183945 you are absolutely right. Putting the filter at the end isn't a good idea. I've come up with a two-piece design to embed the filter down in the bottom and then screw the shield on top. I've also made the attachment a bit stronger with tabs to grip the Seestar better so it is less likely to fall out. Here is that design:

Absolutely fantastic piece of engineering and design! Thank you so much for this, it has saved me countless times when neighbors or my own family turn on the lights. I have been using this for almost a full year and never had any problems.

Thank You @drhollen_72106 ! This printed great, and fits quite well. Sadly the filament I have is fairly reflective. I'm going to hit it with a coat or two of flat black spray paint.

I need to re make in black but this is what I got so far :)

Only matte I had was galaxy PLA - so hope the sparkle doesn't affect it :)

@VladaJanecek_2601195 Not seen any issues with it - but - only used it twice. Clouds, clouds and more clouds the last few weeks :(

Thanks for this great model. Printed it in Polymaker charcoal black PLA, turned out GREAT!! Fits perfectly

Came out great. I can't say how well it works as endless cloud and rain!!!!!! If you can solve that problem too then let me know.

Many thanks.
