Kayouflip 5" Starter Pack - All you need to know
Recommended electronics, Betaflight presets, component placement etc, you'll find everything you need to build your quad around your Kayou Frame on the Kayouflip 5" Starter Pack !
Welcome to the Kayou Frames ecosystem ! The Kayoudur 5" (KD) and the Kayouflip 5" (KF) share the exact same deck dimensions, so most of the Prints are 100% inter-compatible between the 2. Pick the frame that suits you the best … or both !
The plates thicknesses and standoffs heights vary slightly between the 2 frames making some or the prints not intercompatible :
KD has 6mm arms and 3mm body plates for a total body height of 29mm,
KF has 5.5mm arms and 2.5mm body plates for a total body height of 28mm,
All of the files listed in this collection's "files" tab fits the Kayouflip, but we made it simple with files prefix :
“KF" + _print_name.stl : Print fits the Kayouflip,
“KD-F" + _print_name.stl : Print fits the Kayoudur and the Kayouflip.
HD Camera mounts (GoPro etc)
They are all 100% intercompatible between the Kayoudur and the Kayouflip.
Front Bumper-FPV Camera Mount
1 screw per side, 2 screws per side, locked tilt solutions, you'll find everything you'll need.

Backpacks are available with multiple options from SMA pigtail to GPS mount.
Low Profile TPU Kit
What does “Low Profile” means ?
If your gear allows it (on an Analog build for example), you can lower the deck height by reducing the standoff's length by 5mm going from 20 to 15mm.
This mod slightly lowers the center of gravity and increases the rigidity of the standoffs. It's also a great way to flex on HD pilots carrying a VTX bigger than their stack.

For convenience reasons, Low Profile hardware is not available for direct sale through our website. We have, however, made a shopping list so that you can buy all the required hardware by yourself :
M3x16mm Countersunk Heads Stack screws (original ones are 20mm and will be too long)
4x 15mm M3 Standoffs (rear), size is standard, you'll find some easily
4x 23mm M3 Standoffs (back), size isn't standard, if you don't own a CNC you might have to get 25mm ones and grind them yourself.
M3 Aluminum nuts to ajust you stack height, you'll have to slam it to fit in the 15mm rear height
M3 Gummies also to ajust your stack height
Slamming the stack :
Most consumer stacks are meant to fit in a 20mm-high deck (the standard Kayoudur height).
The trickiest part of the Low Profile mod is to slam your stack to fit in a 15mm deck height.
You'll need to rework the way you stack the Fc and the Escs with nuts and gummies, eventually removing your esc shield, rotating the pcbs : some are easier than others but every stack can be slammed.
DJI O3
The DJI O3 had us to rethink of solutions to fit a gigantic cam and a gigantic VTX in a super tight frame designed for Standard gear - but we did it !
Camera mount installation :
DJI O4 Camera is much larger than standard fpv cameras and Installation does require some additional hardware :
4xM3 Square nuts
The print allows you to get rid of the standoffs and to secure the assembly with standard M3x8 Screws.
Print at 100% infill for maximum rigidity, you'll end up with great camera protection and clear FOV.
DJI O4 VTX
The DJI O4 VTX does NOT fit in the back of the frame with the stock Kayou standoffs.
Their diameter of 6.4mm is too wide for it and you'll need to replace them by M3x20 5mm diameter standoffs.
