PDF

This is a case for a DIY PiKVM V2 stack using a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, a C790 HDMI-to-CSI adapter board and a 0.96" OLED Screen HAT (see photos), held together by a couple of M2.5 standoff and bolts.

The only ports exposed are HDMI, OTG USB and the microSD card slot - and of course the screen.

BOM

  • Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH, or a W and 2x3 headers to solder on yourself (~$20)
  • C790 HDMI-to-CSI adapter board (~$25)
  • 0.96" OLED Screen HAT (~$5)
  • 9 * M2.5x12 flat head bolts - six from the bottom, three from the top
  • 4 * M2.5x6+6 hex standoffs (female-male) - below the Pi Zero
  • 3 * M2.5x10 hex standoffs (female-female) - above the Pi Zero
  • 3 * M2.5 nut - one above the Pi Zero, two above the C790

Assembly

Have a look at the included cutaway drawing to get and idea of how this stack is put together, but if you prefer words:

  • Insert six M2.5x12 into the bottom holes of the case.
  • Place the C790 board onto the bolts, with the HDMI jack facing down.
  • Secure the C790 in place using two M2.5x6+6 standoffs and two M2.5 nuts.
  • Put the two M2.5x6+6 standoffs onto the other two M2.5x12 bolts.
  • Stack the Pi Zero 2 W onto the 6mm standoffs while folding the FPC cable between the two boards.
  • Secure the Pi Zero 2 W in place with the three M2.5x10 hex standoffs and the last M2.5 nut.
  • Place the OLED HAT onto the headers pins (you might have to solder those on yourself, if you don't have the “WH” model).
  • Place the lid onto the case.
  • Fix it in place with the last three M2.5x12 bolts.

Enjoy!
