Adjustable Divider System for Drawers

With a newborn addition to our family, we needed an organizer system that could keep up with our ever-changing drawer contents, e.g. baby bottles, diaper, wipes, etc.

This divider system fits most common household drawer widths, and easily expanded to accommodate more than one dividers.

Assembly

Double-sided tape is required for assembly, to adhere the slotted rails to the sides of the drawers. We used the following from Gorilla Glass off Amazon, but any tape should suffice.

  • Step 1 – Adhere the slotted rails to each side of the drawers. A minimum of 2 rails is required, additional rails can be installed for deeper drawers.
    • Note – drawer width may sit between two of the possible steps that the teeth, so it necessary to shim the side-rails.  This can be done with thick double-sided tape, the Gorilla Glass tape I used was 0.8mm thick with a lot of compression.  There's a recess in the side-rails if less shimming is needed, use the flat back if more shimming is required.
  • Step 2 – Adjust the dividers to width, and lock in-place… then insert divider into the slots.

Feedback

Thanks for looking. This is my first time designing, so any suggestions or feedback on how to improve is fully welcome 🙏

What's Next

I have some thoughts on a design to accommodate wider drawers, so please let me know if this is desirable. I'm interested in exploring ways to reduce the amount of filament used by the Slot Rails.
