I wanted a stand to move my MK4 PSU out of my enclosure and also support the Prusa PSU cable Quick-release to more easily move my printer.

This is a remix of LockDots PSU stand from Thingiverse.

Assembly is simple

  • Remove the PSU and the terminal/wiring cover (save the M3 bolts)
  • Install your choice of PSU replacement brackets. There are MANY out there.  I used this one: Prusa MK4 PSU Replacement with M3/M4 threaded inserts by Derk | Download free STL model | Printables.com
  • Attach the PSU side Quick-release assembly to the PSU per the Prusa instructions
  • Feed the Quick-release connector through the top of the stand and snap into place from the inside of the stand. It is a little tricky to snap into place, but the bottom cut out makes that easier.
  • Slide the PSU down and secure with the saved M3 bolts
  • Optionally add rubber feet to the bottom of the stand

There is enough slack in the assembly to periodically check (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) that the PSU terminal screws are tight.  Just remove the M3 screws securing the PSU to the stand and slide the PSU to access the PSU terminals.

This should probably work with the MK3/S/+ cable Quick-release but I have not tested that yet.

Print instructions

I printed mine in

  • PETG
  • 0.2mm
  • 3 perimeters for extra cutout strength
  • 15% infill
  • Paint on supports just in case for the cutout but probably not strictly necessary.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Increased the height and added a cutout for the Prusa Quick-release connector and bottom cutout for access to the connector.
