Design

These are two lamp bodies I have built to illuminate our chicken stables. However, they can be used indoor anywhere, e.g. to illuminate a wardrobe / cupboard, pictures.

Both the lengthy rectangular and the round lamps come with a bottom and a top part. The bottom part is the mount side to be screwed or glued. It should be printed using some opaque filament. The top part is the one to illuminate and needs to be printed using a filament with transparency. As walls are thin, many white filaments will work fine.

Both lamps are designed for cut-able 12V LED strips, 20cm long. I have used this ones: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00HSF64JG

Printer settings:

  • I have used PETG, but PLA will probably work too
  • 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height
  • I'd recommend to print the bottom parts with support “on built plate only” to get nice holes
  • flip the top parts so they are printed top to bottom
