Hi,

I am working for an EMS-Provider (Electronics Manufacturing Services) and our SMD specialist begged me to design him a storage box for his precious midas tools.

A midas tool is a changeable mount tool head for a MyCronic Pick-and-Place maschine.
They come in different sizes for the tool tip depending on the size of the smd component they can pick. The price range is around 250 to 600+ € a piece. We have a few special tools which are not used regularly, so they are stored outside the maschine.

The box itself is not mine, it is Whity's Rugged Box V2.0 in the standard size (inner dimensions 120 x 70 x 30). The insert for 10 midas tools is my model.

printed:
- in PLA
- 0,3 mm layer height
- 3 walls
- 15% cubic infill
- with the holes facing down
- with supports for the holes
- print time ~ 1h13

The insert is a snug fit, but the holder can still be removed easily. I put some foam in the top lid to secure the tool, works like a charm.

I am aware that almost no one will have a use for this holder, unless you work for a company with a MyCronic Pick-and-Place maschine.

Happy Printing! and make the world a better place … one print at a time …
