A puzzle box in the shape of a brick block.
All parts can be printed without supports, however Level 4 includes some long bridging that must not droop for good functionality. This project includes a version of this object with minimal pre-built supports (Level_4_with_Supports.stl) if required.
This model has very tight clearances between some parts and may require careful tuning or post-print cleanup to function and fit smoothly. A good test print is Level_1.stl, Slider_Left.stl, and Slider_Right.stl. These three parts should fit snuggly together but still slide. If they're too tight, try lowering your print temp, checking for elephants foot, or lowering your extrusion multiplier.
See the assembly video for step-by-step instructions.
Here's a rundown of the printed parts and required quantities. All “brick” parts now have looser variants for printers that require that extra clearance. Test print one standard corner brick first to see if the default clearance will work for you.
Latch.stl x2 Many of these parts snap together, but the puzzle will feel most solid if any piece that doesn't need to move is also glued in place.
To lock Level 1 and Level 2 together
Two M3 bolts that are 6-12mm long.
To secure Level 3 to the central post of Level 2
One M3 bolt that is 6-18mm long.
To improve slider movement
Seven 3mm x 3mm cylinder magnets
To improve lid rotation
Eight 3mm x 3mm cylinder magnets
