To make this flare you must have a bit of electronic knowledge.
You need the following to make this:

  • 1 3W led
  • 1 2AA battery pack
  • around 10-20 cm of spare wire
  • around 10 cm of 3mm paracord
  • 1 lighter
  • A piece of 5mm foam cut to size

So how it works is by using the paracord as a switch between the two AA batteries, once the endcap is bulled away the circuit will be complete.

Printing:

Use brim on the flare base both internally and on the outside, print with the top of the flare facing up!
Use PLA or PETG at 0,15-0,3 mm per layer.

Assembly:

  1. Print the parts to start with
  2. Drill an 8-10mm hole in the middle of the battery holder
  3. Pull the wire from the AA battery holder through the top of the flare, and solder it to the 3W led.
  4. Solder another wire to the led and run it back through the same hole as before
  5. Solder the other wire to the other end of the AA battery holder.
  6. Use the 3mm paracord burn it in one end and press it together with some pliers to make a bigger surface.
  7. Pull the other end of the wire through the hole in the battery holder, and install 2 AA batteries with the flat end of the paracord between them.
  8. Use
  9. Pull the paracord through the endcap and thieg a knot on the end. Now just put the top on and you are done

Tips: if the top cap is to lose, use some hot glue at the flare and flatten it out with your finger dipped in water, so it adds a "silicone" stopping ring, not much is needed.
