I have no shortage of plastic spools laying everywhere. I needed a way to storage them until I can figure out what exactly I am going to do with them.

You will need 1-½" Schedule 40 PVC (Roughly 1.9"/48.3mm OD & 1.6"/40.8mm ID) cut into desired lengths. I recommend cutting them at about 2.5ft tall.

I also uploaded a heavy duty version, just incase you want to have taller storage.

Needed:

  • 1-½" Schedule 40 PVC
  • Hacksaw (or any tool that can cut PVC)
  • Super Glue (Gorilla GEL recommended)

Print Settings:

  • Regular Base and Handle
    • I recommend using PETG, it has a little flex to it but still strong
    • 2-4 perimeters
    • 15-25% infill
  • Heavy Duty Base
    • PETG
    • 4-6 perimeters (more = stronger)
    • 25-45% honeycomb infill

*IMPORTANT*:

You need to use a strong glue to attach the PVC to the base.

You need to make sure to cut the PVC as straight as possible, if it is cut at an angle, it will not stand up straight. I recommend using a tool specifically made to cut PVC or a miter saw.
