This was a trophy I was commissioned for and turned out really well! From just a photo I was able to recreate the trophy with minimal difference between them.
Trophy stands (completed) 350mm. All parts were designed to have minimal supports during printing. Total print time was just under 24hrs with the Prusa MK3 and .2 layer height.
While gluing the upper support to the based, best to use a strong adhesive like Tamiya cement or super glue. I added some weight onto the top to help the two pieces sit properly into the channels for the supports.
The ball is made up of two halves that slide together with no glue needed. They snap into place. I added some filler in between the creases to smooth the lines out to create a smooth line around the basketball.
The name plate is left blank so you can add what every name, and info you require.
I painted the whole trophy in an automotive sandable primer, then painted it in a gold metallic paint. I dry brushed the “bumps” with the spray paint colour for more depth.
