This project was a work of passion. Please do not monetize it. Make it for those who are close to you and your loved ones.
Thank you.

PS: You are more than welcome to build upon this project. For example, I would love to see someone put LED with battery and a little switch into the dagger!! Try to hide it as well as possible - Twisting or pushing bottom part. Or make the little handle MMU compatible.

Crystal dagger/knife from Princess Mononoke. (玉の小刀, Gyoku no Kogatana).

My goal with this project was to make it as true to the original as possible. Working with only one usable image was a bit tricky.

This important item was shown an only handfull of times and in a different quality. I used this image because it looked the best.

After little edit, tracing and modeling I made it here.

What material and settings I used:

Dagger itself:
  • Prusament PETG Ultramarine Blue Transparent https://www.prusa3d.com/product/prusament-petg-ultramarine-blue-transparent-1kg/
  • 2-3 perimeters and 0% infill to make it transparent. 2 is bit too little. 3 is bit too much.
  • 0.15 layer height to keep as much detail as possible.
  • 2 Horizontal shells on TOP and BOTTOM.
  • 80% infill in little handle part to make it bit hefty.
  • Supports on buildplate only with 45% overhang threshold
  • 70% scale
Dagger handle:
  • Prusament PLA Anniversary LE 2023. Any dark purple or dark blue will do just great.
  • 7 perimeter infill to make it heavier.
  • 25% infill. Not really needed.
  • 0.15 or 0.2 layer height
  • You can use supports for the top bottom part of the print to keep it cleaner.
  • I would recommend to use 3D pen for the little arrows on the handle. I used white and a red marker and it just doesn't do it justice.
  • 70% scale
Dagger bottom cover:
Arts and craft supplies:
  • 1x Black flat drawstring Cord.
  • 1x Red round string or shoe lace.
  • White and red marker or even better 3D pen to fill arrows on the handle with red filament
  • Any good glue. I used UHU All Purpose.

Whole model is easy to assemble, but you need to use glue to hold it together. Black lace can be tied and end can by hidden into itself for cleaner look. I would recommend you to tie the Red lace on the left and right so it sits nicely on the neck.

Ends can be tied with two slip knots for easy adjustments.

That was a lot!
Thank you for your attention <3
