I think handscrew clamps are neat so I made one.

Assembly instructions:

  1. Match the symbols on the pins with the symbols on the jaws and insert them in the matching holes
  2. With the jaws flat on a table, pinch a screw between them and twist the screw to thread it into a pair of pins. It's best to thread into both pins simultaneously so the screw will be centered
  3. Repeat step 2 for the other screw
  4. Screw handles onto opposite corners. Check that the clamp functions as expected
  5. Glue each of the handles in place with a drop of superglue

Troubleshooting:

  • Be aware that half the threads are left handed
  • If something isn't threading on try twisting it in the opposite direction
  • If a screw isn't threading into the pins try flipping it around

Description of files:

  • Each .3mf includes three build plates or clumps of objects
  • The first plate contains all the parts for a set of clamps, with a throat depth and capacity of 50mm
  • The second plate contains longer jaws and screws, for a throat depth and capacity of 170mm
  • The third plate contains a 2x upscaled version of the first plate with clearances adjusted to match the upscaling. Throat depth and capacity are 100mm
