This is a spool sized desiccant container that aims to keep the BambuLab AMS dry. It has a built in Hygrometer for temperature and moisture monitoring, and easily fits in one of the AMS slots.
This is designed to be shaped like a spool so that the dedicated filament dryer boxes can be used to dry this when the desiccant gets saturated.
I had a dryer box from my previous printers, and the ease of use when drying filaments was missed with the AMS, so I designed this instead. I use color changing desiccant that changes color when saturated so I know when to dry it, but the hygrometer indicates moisture in the desiccant very well as well.
I use a standard circular hygrometer that can be purchased from amazon, which has a diameter of 41.5mm and a bezel diameter of 44mm.
To secure the parts, you need 3mm nuts and bolts. I used 4 - 3x10mm and 4 3x16mm, as well as 8 - 3mm nuts.
To print the nuts in place for the main body, you must insert a pause at the layer height just prior to the internal chamfer, which will allow you to place the nuts in the print and then continue printing - see picture.
IMPORTANT: Make sure supports are turned off.
