If you've ever needed to re-thread a drawstring for a hoodie, you know it can be tricky. After struggling with this once I designed these drawstring threader needles to make the process much easier. Simply pass the end of the string through both holes as shown and pull tight. Usually this is enough, but if needed you can tie a knot. Included are three different widths of needle (5mm, 7mm, and 9mm) to fit through different size openings.
Printing tips: these threaders are more useful if they can be a little flexible and standard PLA works fine for this. I prefer to print them with a solid infill so you don't have infill structures breaking as the item is flexed. For better printing speed, strength, and flexibility, I recommend concentric infill all the way through. This way the needles have long strands of filament along the entire length of the part, less prone to breaking.
