This MB8600 Modem tray allows you to mount this modem in a standard 19" rack. While this fits perfectly into a 1U slot, the modem sticks up slightly higher, so it is recommended to have this placed under a blank or something like a patch panel that has some space to allow for the extra height of the modem.
I have included the left wing and three options for the right wing.
This prints beautifully in PETG, but I notice it sags a little due to the weight of the modem. My rack is a shelf top rack, so I designed a support stand that snaps into the hexagonal design and supports the weight of the modem by standing on the shelf. You will just need to modify the height of the legs.
For printing, orient the faces of the wings and the modem tray down on the print bed. The hex design of the tray will print without supports, but I used supports on everything just to make sure there was no sagging.
Printed PETG with 30% infill, Gyroid, no brim or skirt.
The author remixed this model.
I found that the tray was just a tiny bit narrow for the MB8600, so I widened the tray and shortened the wings so that it would still fit a standard 19" rack.
I also created 2 additional right side wings - in addition to the Keystone wing that loopj created, I designed another to hold a Lutron Caseta Hub (with included retaining screw) and lastly, a blank right wing.
